Keeping up the streak my friend! Filled with so many gems...

The Derek Sivers part is such a big topic I've had in my head lately, and you just gave me an angle that saves me all the trouble and struggle, will come back to it often!

And Frances Ha and focusing specifically on the dialogue/monologue, ooof... have you seen this video essay about Noah Baumbach's mastery of human dialogue? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHp639vhUJg& So much to talk about around it, thank you for highlighting this beautiful and uncool monologue.

On to listening to the playlist now!

I'm looking forward to watching these movies! Thanks for these uncool recommendations. 😎

Reading Sunday Candy gets me ✨real in the feels✨ and it's one of my favorite reading activities.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Palm Trees and Pleasantries playlist catching up over some local craft beer. Looking forward to enjoying it during the day when I get home to work on some paintings 🎨

Love this format and the uniqueness of each element you brought to it. The palm trees and pleasantries is the relaxed vibe I need to channel now post crazy few weeks building my course so thank you for creating this space to relax. 🏝️

Powerhouse of a share this week. I've been thinking about it all day. I think the internet allows for uncoolness to come out sooner than IRL, and I often feel closer to people I interact with online for that reason because uncoolness is magnetic. The more uncool practice online, the easier to take it offline???

Also I didn't know substack does essays? v. cool.

Also the retro palm tree graphic 🌴

Also thanks for writing.

I love Francis Ha! I think I watched it in college and since then a friend of mine and I always go see Greta Gerwig's new movies together (which strangely will next be Barbie).

I think there's a point to keep writing, but at least for now I will say I love Sunday Candy!

I'm basking in the concept of having the courage to be my uncool self as the basis of connection. That is what's so amazing about reading others work, you pick up a little phrase, a different way of looking at your world that gets in like nothing else does. Thank you for calling this idea out. (But I've never thought of Derek Sivers as uncool. He actually comes across as kind of kick-ass. Right to the heart of the matter.)

The Derek Sivers quote feels like the process is the point. The outcomes are merely a side effect.

Or maybe I’m seeing something I’ve been internalizing for a bit. Sunday Candy ftw 🙌🏾
