Damn. I LOVED this.

Felt every bit of it.

Put it on repeat.

Marking it to come back to it again.

It is a reminder and almost feels like a psalm.

"I'm not writing myself into existence, I've been here." Damn, damn, DAMN.

Your color-changing sunset sherbet cloudscape header is giving me picnic in the park vibes. I’m loving the mix up here with the ultra-black marker handwritten text on the legal pad, and that you break the rulez and write over the red margin (it’s really just a design feature anyway).

I’m so happy you wrote this! I’m really resonating with ALL of your why’s, specifically these:

“…I can become my biggest self. The most myself. Sink into the deepest parts of me and be connected entirely.”

“It is not just something for my music mind, it is something for my sleepless soul…where the beginnings of me touches the beginnings of you. A signal, a light, an invitation.”

“Writing, for me, is a different kind of dreaming, one that is witnessed.”

“Writing, then, is me carving my place, claiming my space so I can dare to keep dreaming. It is vital.”

This signal, this invitation, you mentioned, is the reason why I keep writing along side you! Thank you for continuing to inspire my writing and creative work. I’ve been soaking this in the past few days, and read this like 10 times. And your in bloom playlist is a great vibe, it’s fun to drive on tree-lined side streets with friends!

Sandra,

Why I haven't been subscribing all along, I don't know, but I now regret it. I loved this manifesto on a yellow notepad. Thank you for sharing this with me.

When reading this longer style pieces of yours I feel like I'm right there with you, following along all your thought process, and in turn becoming mine in profound ways. The ultimate stream-of-consciousness. And if you think about it, it's perfect, because you talk about "a signal, a light, an invitation".

What an ode to writing (and publishing)! It has many gems throughout but it needs to be read completely to get the full effect, so "I'm still here" is my favorite one (and grateful you are)

Once again, my beginnings are moved and touched . . .

Oh my god Sandra, this piece has been sent straight into my starred section cause man, your poetry is beautiful! Gosh, I just want to pluck out everything into my comment here. Instead, I'll just pick my favourite line:

"I am not writing myself into existence, I've been here.

Instead I'm writing myself big. Because my writing can be big. Bigger than me."

I cannot think of words that better capture the beauty of writing. I hope you don't mind if I save this into my notes and share it in a newsletter issue at some point!

Sunday Candy on a Monday midnight but hey I still love it :) "Writing yourself big" -- love this expression. Also your plaulist name is "In Bloom"? "Bloom" by Radiohead is literally the theme song I picked for the most recent issue of my newsletter. A happy coincidence!

“I wonder if you understand” -- I do, completely. You just put into words what I’ve been thinking for a long time now. This is perfect, Sandra.
