reading this was like tasting a warm, familiar dish from an old friend who found new herbs in her garden to cook with. comforting, thoughtfully delightful, and full of tiny surprises.
I love that these poems are typed on restaurant order forms, intertwined with beautiful floral Polaroids 😍 I’m excited to see what you type on next. Maybeeee construction paper? Wrapping paper? Paper with words already printed on it? Like magazine paper or newsprint?
The rhythm and rhyming of #7435-17 was so lovely to read over and over again. It’s my fave.
I’m resonating with the idea of getting to know someone so well that they’re like a mirror in #7435-15. It’s that vulnerability where two people can be honest about each other with each other, just being in tune to some frequency that’s shared only between them. (At least, this is what I got from reading this poem for myself.)
Also very excited for this vibeyy playlist. I love a good Sunday bop…and mondaytuesdaywednesdaythurs…… all day every day bop, especially with Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem. I recommend you try out Caribou next Sunday. They’re very vibey and bopy and one of my faves.
...and to think i thought i ordered a side of eggs with this pastry...i appreciate you keeping it tax free though...i wanted to leave a tip but then i remembered to forget it...
I love it when you send all this different things at once (though I equally love your essays, so...).
The one about the shivering man electrified me, it's so important to see everyone with the same compassion, and at the same level, without preconceptions, and you encapsulated that in such a concise way.
And I think that's something great you do, encapsulate big and profound feelings in concise, textured, memorable ways. You did it like 10 times in this delivery alone!
Will listen to the playlist soon, now I have 2 on my pending list!
LOVE your body poem - beautiful and loving how they’re written on receipts!

Wow I loved this Sandra. I’ve been writing short poems in my free time and seeing you publish this gets me thinking of new mediums to explore.
“You will never know anyone”

Your creative visuals are so much a part of the joy of your writing. This "guest check" presentation was absolutely delightful.
Beautiful poems and excited to dig into the playlist!
