Love this week’s Sunday Candy header! How did you make all your colors melt and ripple like that? It reminds me of dripping paint on a canvas, or sidewalk chalk drawings washing away in the rain.

“I’m always surprised by how much of those someones I still carry with me…” I often find myself here too, and I like it - especially holding onto the someones that make us feel better and the someones that helped us grow. I too hope that those someones have a bit of us in them too. Could it be the closest thing we have to telepathy?

Sitting with the idealist and realist section.

Your section on constellations is beautiful, I feel the splendor!

And I’m sending you all the daydreams and sunbeams 🌞✨ Thanks for another week of tenderness <3

The answer to how anything is made is always one thing: magic mostly. 🌚

Your thought on telepathy is still intriguing to me, but I don't think I've wrapped my head around it fully yet.

Where are you at with the idealist and realist section?

💭 Daydreams ✔️

🌞 Sunbeams 🔜

First, I really like your cover art today! I don’t know why, something about it makes me feel happy. I’m a big fan of your hand written notes. I haven’t thought about *if* my words have stuck with someone but when someone tells me something I said did stick with them (good or bad) it reminds me that we never know when what we’re saying is impacting someone. Now I want to look at the stars and wonder what those things could have been. Or maybe it’s easier to reflect on the words that have stuck with me. Another deep, thoughtful (and written) essay!

Thank you for saying you liked the cover art!! I loved playing with paint for both. I wonder if it's the pink bringing on the happy feels. Either way, it makes my heart sing to know it makes you feel happy!

"we never know when what we’re saying is impacting someone." 😌

You're right! All the more reason to practice being more intentional, thoughtful, and gentle with our words. I can think of many things people have said to me that they probably don't realize have stuck with me ("good" and "bad"). I'm sure you have things like that too. Ideally, it's always nice to let people know when they've shared something that's had an impact. But I think mostly those things go unknown.

Here for this Goose looking at the stars and wondering energy.

Love your writings! When you talked about the stars I thought about the night sky in Zimbabwe. So dark and loud with the night chatter of the insects.

Tanyaaaaaa,

"So dark and loud" sounds so ominous!! Do you have any pictures of the sky in Zimbabwe? Maybe not at night since you probably can't see anything lol But I bet it's a beautiful view during the day. Sunset? Also, I love how you said, "the night chatter of the insects." You were so brief, but descriptive and it's so visual!

Thank you for taking the time to read!! I feel like I haven't heard your thoughts on what I've been sharing in a while. It's nice to hear what you think :)

LOVELY! "Moving through the world carrying two sights at once" --- awwww such a banger quote, I will pin this onto my desk! Beautifully hand-written and rendered tender with a sense of peaceful and thoughtful existence, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside :D

Expand full comment

You telling me I have a banger quote is a banger of a moment, Helen. Should I screenshot this and pin it onto my desk too??

"with a sense of peaceful and thoughtful existence" <3

AI could never 🌚

Being told I make anyone feel warm and fuzzy inside is the highest compliment. Thank you!

Loving these last several editions with handwritten notes. They feel like they are personalized for me.

Expand full comment

Randy, they ARE personalized just for you. Don't share this intel with anyone else, they'll get jealous.

New font, new you. Is the new logo handwritten? <3

Each note is a meditation. Can you ASMR us with an audio reading of each note?

And oooof the catastrophic line.

“New font, new you.” A new me, every issue, forever.

Everything must be made by my hands *twitches* It is handwritten! My hand and Sharpie and about a million discarded versions.

“Each note is a meditation.” 😌

“Can you ASMR us with an audio reading of each note?” 🫠 🫠 🫠 🫠 Shannon.

It would just be me wheezing from being so anxious. But that’s what people are into, right?

Maybe one day I'll explore that option. BUT I triple dog dare you to do it first. :)

Though you have an unfair advantage because brevity!

The handwritten twitch is the best type of twitch.

There's a niche for every type of ASMR. I'd rather die than hear my own voice. Though, I'm adding this to our list of potential collaboration routes because growth.

Nice synchronicity for a night full of hollywood stars winning for a metaverse movie...appreciate the poetry and the tunes!! Prepare for an epic wildflower season with all this continued rain :)

Haha, ah. Me and the Universe (and maybe Hollywood?) scheme together sometimes.

Thank you, CansaFis!! I appreciate you letting me know you appreciate them.

"epic wildflower season" Yesss but also allergiesssssss🤧

Your notes are working to help me stay tender. Love them Sandra. Beautifully shared notions for the spirit.

Oh goodness, I loved hearing this, Rick. And I really appreciate your sharing that and taking the time to read! I realize reading my handwriting might not always come with the ease of typed words.

May we maintain our tenderness always.

Loved it, Sandra. And loved that your handwriting changes. Mine is like that too. I cannot start and end a handwritten document with the same calligraphy. I guess it depends on the mood and a million other circumstances and thoughts that linger over my being at some particular point. In any event, I really enjoyed this issue. :)

Silvio,

I love that we have that in common! Some people write so consistently and precise. It’s a beautiful skill. But maybe our hands are just more free spirited?? They cannot be tamed 😂

When I read this: “I cannot start and end a handwritten document with the same calligraphy.” I immediately thought of how I seem to not be able to start and end even some WORDS with the same writing! But maybe that's a quality to lean into.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! I would love to see some of your own handwriting sometime for that personal touch. I'm sure è bella ✨

Yes, even the same word! Weird, uh? My handwriting is not that beautiful. I mean, it could be, but that would imply me concentrating on making it beautiful, which is not good (I get distracted, etc.). :)

The number 26 is very special for me, and this Sunday Candy matched with it perfectly, added to the fact that I'm receiving it on the 13th for the time difference, which is my favorite number.

My love for specific numbers ends there, just a small detail that will now be attached to Someone Sandra. Loved how you expressed those thoughts!

The tension between Realist and Idealist is real, and I think in that balance is where the complicated but interesting part of life lies.

The stars section is so beautiful! "My eyes loyal to the spaces in between", "they belong to me", oooff... really enjoyed reading it a few times.

Also, do you have more than one type of handwriting? I'm amazed at that. I only have one and, as previously mentioned, it's pretty ugly.

Saving the playlist for tomorrow :)

26 and 13? Hmm 13 is half of 26….am I onto something here? 🤔 Thank you for sharing these fun facts with me. Maybe soon you can tell me more about why they’re so special to you.

Also, I appreciate you validating the tension between being an Idealist and Realist. Interesting, indeed, but NOT a good time lol 🫠

As far as my writing goes, it definitely changes here. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. (I do a lot of rewriting and get tired/sloppy) You could for sure say I have more than one type. I feel so exposed now with eyes on how I write. Might have to pivot away haha.

I loved that you came back to let me know what you thought of the playlist!! I think you’re the first to do that. But also, RIGHT? The mood of the cover works perfectly for it!!

Always, always, always appreciate your kind words about what I share, Oscar.

Also, I laughed at, " it's pretty ugly." 😂

Noooooo. Let me see it!

Hahaha maybe one day!

As for the numbers, nothing too interesting, they've just been present in many things throughout my life, from home address, number, birthday, special days (like my wedding and such), so I have a special affinity for them, and you're completely right, the fact that one is the double of the other!

Hahaha yeah, I imagine not being a good time, but oh well, what can I say...

Interesting to know you do have more than one, and all nice, it's crazy and exciting and nice. About feeling exposed, I can imagine, but hey, as Neil Gaiman said, "the moment that you feel that, just possibly, you’re walking down the street naked, exposing too much of your heart and your mind and what exists on the inside, showing too much of yourself. That’s the moment you may be starting to get it right.”

Glad to know I'm the first to come back with the thoughts on the playlist haha. But yeahh, loved the mood of it all and the matching with cover, nice!!

And I'm always happy to read your writing!

Loved the playlist! I only knew José Gonzalez and City and Colour, so really liked discovering new artists. Also enjoyed so much the cover for This Must Be The Place! It's one of my favorite songs, and this version is very nice!
